Parent collapses on learning his daughter had lied to teachers that he was dead

A parent collapsed in the office after learning that his daughter had all along told the administration that he was dead. The parent who may be in his late 60s was summoned to school to listen to the daughter’s case with the administration.
The girl had been told to repeat a class for a second time but had refused. To make matters worse, whenever she was told to bring the father, she reportedly told the teachers that her father was not alive and that she was living with a caretaker who paid her school fees.
“We learned from the student that her father died a few years ago before she even joined form one and we had excused her for some time as we sought ways of going about her case,” narrated her class teacher.
Things came to a head when she was pushed to the wall and told to bring the person whose name appeared in the bank slips. Left with no option, the girl brought her father to school.
The moment of truth came when she was confronted and told to declare the relationship between her and the grey-haired man with a walking staff who was seated across him. This is after there appeared to be a Tower of Babel moment when they seemed to be talking at cross-purposes. A few exchanges between teachers and the student led to the inevitable moment.
“Is this the good man that has been taking care of you and paying your school fees after your father died?” asked a teacher.
FORGET ABOUT SCHOOL
This was followed by silence. There was tension and confusion in the office of the deputy principal in the leading girls’ schools in Nyanza. Suddenly the old man collapsed in a heap after the words sunk in.
Two teachers who were in the panel that was solving the case had a difficult time administering first-aid to the dumbfounded father who, by the time they were trying to resuscitate him had almost completely passed out.
It took another 15 minutes for an ambulance to come to the school to rush him to a nearby health facility.
However, by the time the ambulance arrived, he had already started regaining consciousness and prayed that he be left alone to recover before anything else.
After about ten more minutes of resting and taking a cold soft drink, the man came to his senses.
That was when he ordered the girl to disappear from his sight in the office and ordered her to go home and forget about school.
“I don’t want to see you anywhere near me, you can pack and go home for good because I am tired of your stories,” the visibly angry parent thundered.
Efforts by the administrators to contain his tempers bore no fruit as he spanked the girl with a walking staff, sending her scampering for safety.
Apparently girl had been hiding from him the fact that she was supposed to repeat form three. The girl had also repeated in form two, without his knowledge.
The parent said the girl had even demanded to be given registration fees for the form four examinations, money that she was given. “All along she has been informing me that she is progressing well in school and that she was preparing for a good grade in this year’s examinations,” the parent, who is a small-scale trader, lamented.
After the bitter exchanges with his daughter, he walked out angrily, leaving the teachers pondering what to do next.
